Melanie Renee Atkins, 34, of Easley, wife of Dustin Cruz Atkins, went to be with Jesus on Saturday, August 26, 2023, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Greenville, she was the daughter of Randy and Tracy Bagwell Brown. Melanie earned a bachelor’s degree in business and MBA from North Greenville University. In addition to her academic accomplishments, Melanie will be remembered for her vibrant personality that left an indelible mark on those around her. Feisty and tenacious, she faced life's challenges with unwavering strength. Even in the face of illness, she fought courageously until the very end. Melanie's resilience inspired all who witnessed her unwavering spirit. A true beacon of faith and love, Melanie held Jesus close to her heart. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, guiding her every decision and action. She selflessly put others before herself and consistently demonstrated compassion and kindness towards those in need. Melanie's unwavering devotion to others was a testament to her beautiful soul. Melanie was a member of NewSpring Church – Powdersville Campus. She also loved trying new foods and traveling to the beach with her friends and family. While we mourn the loss of Melanie, we take comfort in the precious memories she leaves behind. Forever etched in our hearts are her contagious laughter, her unwavering strength, and her selflessness that touched the lives of countless individuals.
In addition to her husband of 10 years, 1 month, and 6 days and parents, she is survived by her daughter, Mary Parker Atkins; a brother, Matthew Brown (Robin), and their children, Isabella, Harrison, and Everett Brown; maternal grandparents, Clyde and Judy Bagwell; paternal grandfather, Jerry Brown; one aunt, Cindy Snyder (David) and her children, Taylor and Hunter Rollins; one uncle, Rick Brown (Jan); and many other family and friends who loved her so much.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Edith Brown; and a cousin, Ethan Brown.
The family will host a Worship and Celebration service at NewSpring Church – Powdersville Campus on Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 3:00 PM.
