Melba Sarvis Blanton

December 20, 1938 — January 26, 2022

Melba Sarvis Blanton, 83, of Clemson, wife of the late Dr. Lloyd H. Blanton, passed away January 26, 2022.

Born in Nichols, SC, she was the daughter of the late Galbreth and Genease Bell Sarvis. Mrs. Blanton attended Limestone College, graduated from Furman University and earned her master's degree from Clemson University. She served as the AP Biology teacher at Seneca High School for many years. Mrs. Blanton was a member of and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church of Clemson.

She is survived by her son, James H. Blanton and wife Monica of Greenville; daughter, Cyndy Blanton of Easley; grandchildren, Brian Nelson (Debra), Bradley Nelson (Coy Beth) and Will Nelson (Lindsey); nine great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Sarvis and wife, Ouida, of Florence.

Mrs. Blanton is preceded in death by her brother, Stokes Sarvis, of Florence.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 4, 2022 from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. in the Family Life Center of First Baptist Church of Clemson.

Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the church sanctuary. Entombment will be at Memory Gardens, Clemson.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations to be made to First Baptist Church of Clemson.
