Melbourne Arledge, Sr.

Melbourne Jerome Arledge, Sr., husband of the late Sylvia Sue Hancock Arledge, passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at Spartanburg Regional Hospice Home.
Born in Greenville County, he was a son of the late Melbourne and Louise Lowe Arledge. "Mel" or "Jerry" as he was known by his friends and family, served in the United States Air Force for four years. He was a mechanical engineer and was a member of Triune Mercy Center.
Surviving are two sons, Melbourne J. Arledge, Jr. and wife Katrina, of Eagle River, Alaska, and Sean T. Arledge and wife Sarah, of Mt. Pleasant; a daughter, Shannon A. Peters and husband Tim, of Greer; one brother, Thomas S. Arledge and wife Judy, of Fl.; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Elizabeth Leininger.
Memorial services, with military honors, will be at 6:30 PM Friday at Triune Mercy Center, 222 Rutherford Road, Greenville, with Rev. Deb Richardson-Moore officiating.
The family will receive friends at the church immediately following the service.
