Melinda Darlene Thornley, 61, of Easley, South Carolina passed peacefully away at her residence with her family by her side.
Darlene, as she was affectionately known, was born in Greenville, South Carolina the daughter of Robert L. Horne and the late Lillia Patricia McNelly Horne. She was a 1980 graduate of Wren High School in Piedmont, South Carolina. She later graduated from Greenville Technical College with an associate degree in business. She worked for Wal-Mart as a cake designer.
Darlene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoyed traveling, singing, and baking. She was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed singing in the choir.
She is survived by her son, Dawson Kendall Thornley (Desirae Wilkins); and her father, Robert L. Horne; and a granddaughter, Alison Wilkins. She will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family will receive friends between 12:45 – 2:45 PM on Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at Robinson Funeral Home – 1425 Powdersville Rd, Easley, SC 29642. A graveside service to honor Darlene’s life will be held at 3:00 PM following the visitation in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
