Melvie K. Riggins- Central
Melvie King Riggins, 79, widow of Leonard A. Riggins, died Tuesday, March 11, 2008 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson. Born in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Ellis and Obera Myers King. She was a member of Refuge Baptist Church where she taught the Mothers Sunday School Class for 25 years and served on many committees.
Survivors: sons, Barry K. Riggins and his wife Robyn of Central, Brian L. Riggins and his wife Jackie of Liberty; daughters, Lynne Bolt and her husband Deno of Central and Leslie G. Riggins and her fiance Larry Walden of Anderson; brother, Grady King of Clemson and grandchildren, Cliff Bone and his girlfriend Jessie Smith, Autumn Bone and her fiance Casey Cothran, Megan, Taylor and Aurie Riggins and Nathan Walden.
Funeral services will be Friday at 2pm at Refuge Baptist Church. Private burial will be held at a later time. The body is at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home where the family will receive friends on Thursday from 6-8pm and will be place in the church on Friday at 1pm.
