Melvin Bailous LaBoone, 88, formerly of Greenville, husband of the late Charlotte Boggs LaBoone, passed away Tuesday August 6, 2013 at Richard M. Campbell Veteran's Nursing Home.
Born in Easley, Mr. LaBoone was a son of the late Van Lloyd and Margaret Babb LaBoone. He graduated from Easley High School and retired from Pet Dairy after 43 years as the Fleet Maintenance Supervisor for South Carolina, North Carolina and Georgia. Mr. LaBoone was a member of Mt. Airy Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. Mr. LaBoone was a US Navy Veteran.
Surviving are a son, Melvin B. "Mickey" LaBoone, Jr. (Lauren) of Piedmont; and two grandchildren, Alexandria and Cameron LaBoone.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Mt. Airy Baptist Church with the Reverend Dr. Keith Shorter officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
The family will receive friends Friday from 10:00 to 10:45 AM at the church prior to the service.
Memorials may be made to Mt. Airy Baptist Church, 210 Mt. Airy Church Road, Easley, SC 29642.
The family is at the home of his son, 243 Forest Glen Drive, Piedmont, SC 29673.
