Melzie B. Garrett

Melzie Blackwell Garrett, 96, of Easley and widow of Clyde L. Garrett, died Friday, July 14, 2006 at Blue Ridge Living Center.
Mrs. Garrett was born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late Lee A. and Sarah Elizabeth (Sallie) McCoy Blackwell. She was a retired employee of Swirl Inc. and was the oldest living member of Geer Memorial Baptist Church.
Surviving are: a daughter, Sarah G. O'Shields of Easley; son-in-law, Bill Harp Sr. of Lumberton, NC; grandchildren, Bill Harp Jr, Nancy H. Smith, Janet O. Taylor, Sallie H. Wade and Susan O. Sauls; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a daughter, Kathryn G. Harp and sisters, Ethel Lollis and Johnnie Waldrop.
Graveside services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday, at Westview Cemetery, Easley with Rev. Archie Sharp and Rev. Dr. John Adams officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to 2:45 PM, Sunday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
The family is at the home of the daughter, 117 St. Lo Circle, Easley, SC 29640.
