Michael Ben Day, affectionately known as Mike, passed away on October 28, 2023, leaving behind a remarkable legacy that will forever be cherished in the hearts and minds of those he touched.

Born on August 10, 1959, in Greenville, South Carolina, Mike's journey began with humble beginnings. At the tender age of 13, he embarked on his career alongside his father as a carpenter. With a meticulous nature and an unwavering commitment to perfectionism, Mike quickly earned a reputation as the best in his field. His skill and expertise were unparalleled, leaving an indelible mark on every project he undertook.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Mike had a genuine heart full of compassion and kindness. He possessed the incredible ability to make anyone feel seen and heard. He was selfless to the core, always willing to lend a helping hand or give someone the shirt off his back. His big heart overflowed with love and generosity towards all who knew him.

Mike had an infectious sense of humor that could light up any room. His laughter was contagious and brought joy to those fortunate enough to share in his company. Though occasionally hardheaded in his endeavors to have things done his way, it was only because he held such a strong belief in striving for excellence.

In his leisure time, Mike exhibited a deep passion for various interests. He was an avid NASCAR fan, with a particular admiration for the late Dale Earnhardt Sr., whose tenacity and skill resonated deeply with him. Fishing was another beloved pastime that allowed him to connect with nature and find solace in its tranquility. Additionally, Mike derived great pleasure from cheering on his favorite team during Clemson football games.

Amongst numerous accomplishments throughout his life, Mike took immense pride in assisting a close friend in building a cabin. The collaborative effort between friends brought them immeasurable joy and created memories that will be cherished for generations to come.

Mike's memory will forever be etched in the hearts of his predeceased family members, including his beloved father, Ben Frank Day, and his loving mother, Clara McGuire Day. He is also predeceased by his sister Kathy Day. Their bond was unbreakable, and they shared a lifetime of memories that will continually bring comfort during difficult times.

In addition to his immediate family, Mike leaves behind a wide circle of friends who were blessed to have known him. His sisters Chris Porter (Gary), Susan Cuddy (Ricky), and Sherry Curtis (Gene) will forever hold their beloved brother close in their hearts. The impact he had on their lives is immeasurable.
