 Michael Lane Fortenberry, doting son, brother, father, and grandfather, entered Eternal life with his Lord and Savior on January 15, 2025.

 Born on September 16, 1972, Michael shares a birthday with his mother, which he claims was the reason behind his title of the “favorite” child. 

 Michael was a 1990 Easley High School graduate, a Deacon at Jones Avenue Baptist Church, a dedicated father, and a devoted husband of 29 years. Gifted with a competitive spirit, he loved participating, coaching, and cheering on his church basketball teams over the years. Most mornings, he was enjoying breakfast at The Huddle or going for a scenic drive. Michael’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family and sharing his love of Christ with those around him. Nothing made him happier than witnessing his three boys grow into faithful and kind gentlemen.

 Along with his loving wife, Melissa, Michael is survived by three sons, Jake (Maggie), Jeremy (Gracie), and Jordan; one grandson, Henry Fortenberry; his parents, Linda Jackson (Fred) and Herman Fortenberry (Greta Ann); his sister, Cindy Ray; and his brother, Dwight Fortenberry (Tammy), along with many other family and friends that were apart of his daily life.

 A Celebration of Michael’s life will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 18, 2025, at Jones Avenue Baptist Church, 614 Ross Avenue, Easley, SC 29640.

 In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Jones Avenue Baptist Church Children’s Ministry, PO Box 1688, Easley, SC 29641.
