Michael Thomas Maloney

Michael T. Maloney, 71, of Clemson, SC, passed away on July 27, 2021.
Mike was a Professor of Economics at Clemson university for 45 years. He had an enormous zeal for life, endless curiosity, and he brought a keen intensity to all of his many and varied pursuits. He was an Eagle Scout.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Martha McDonald; daughters Cassandra McGowan (Chad) of Fort Mill, SC, and Mame Maloney (Pierre Wagenseil) of Chicago, IL; grandchildren Annie, Abbie, and Cam McGowan; siblings Sally Cooey of Pensacola, FL; Nancy Mason, Robert Maloney, James P Maloney, and Kenneth Maloney, all of Hattiesburg, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, George Maloney, of Jackson, Ms.
A memorial gathering will be held on August 21, 2021, at 3:00 pm in the Atrium of the Wilbur O. and Ann Powers College of Business at Clemson University.
