Michael Eugene Watson

Michael Eugene “Big Mike” Watson, 73, of Central, husband to the late Helena Jean Moore Watson, passed away November 14, 2025.

Born in Central, he was the son of the late Major Gene Watson and Claret Mulkey Mize. Big Mike worked at Central Textiles and was a fireman for Central Fire Department. He enjoyed being outside in the sun cutting and tending to his yard.

He is survived by his son, Michael Eugene “Little Mike” Watson, II and wife Jamie of Central; grandchildren, Helena Ann Hooper, Clayton Reece Black, Margie Baker, Jesse Barnes, and Lucille Scruggs; brothers, Roger Watson, Pat Stephens, and Terry Cantrell; sister, Debra Cantrell. Big Mike is also survived by thirteen great-grandchildren.

Mr. Watson was predeceased by his wife, parents; daughter, Helena Jeanette Watson; brother, Dale Cantrell; sister, Angie Mize.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, November 22, 2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be held Sunday, November 23, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
