Michel Nicholas Wheibe, age 54, of 113 Meeker Court, Easley, S.C. passed away Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Damascus, Syria, Mr. Wheibe was the son of Mary Bawab of Damascus, Syria and the late Nicholas Wheibe. He lived most of his life in Syria where he was in the marble and granite mosaic construction and production.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Rehab Joudeh of Easley; his son, Elias Wheibe and two daughters, Lynne Waheeba and Nora Waheeba all of Easley; two brothers, Hanna and Tony Wheibe and three sisters, Abla, Fadia, and Nora Wheibe all of Damascus, Syria; and four brothers-in-law, Samer and Ayham Joudeh, both of Easley, Thaer Joudeh of Greenville, S.C. and Akram Joudeh of Dallas, Texas.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Saturday at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Greenville. The Trisagion Prayer Service will take place at 10:00 AM Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley, following the service at the church.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Friday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made payable to Robinson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 387, Easley, S.C. 29641-0387 for his favorite charity in Syria, Mar Mansour, (St. Mansour).
