James Michael "Mike" Whitmire, 48, of 294 Fish Camp Road, died Tuesday, October 6, 2009, at his home.
Born in Greenville County, a son of Johnny and Betty Crowe Whitmire of Liberty, Mike was formerly employed as a sewing machine technician with TSS of Greenville, and was of the Baptist faith.
Surviving are his wife, Debra Tompkins Whitmire of the home; a daughter, Brooke Hali Whitmire of the home; a son, Mitchum Thomas Spearman of Easley; a brother, Keith Whitmire of Greenwood; and a grandson, Stephen Thomas Spearman of Easley.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Rev. Dr. Jack Connelly officiating. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mike Whitmire Memorial Fund, c/o Robinson Funeral Home, P.O. Box 387, Easley, SC 29641.
The family is at the home of his mother-in-law, Ruby Crowe, 294 Fish Camp Road, Easley, SC 29642.
