Mildred "Joni" Bauer

Mildred "Joni" Galloway Bauer, 87, of The Willows and formerly of Milledgeville and Augusta, Georgia and Fayetteville, NC, as well as Seneca, South Carolina, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Rainey Hospice House in Anderson.
Born in Jeffersontown, Kentucky, Mrs. Bauer was a daughter of the late Ernest Christman and Florence Ethel Woodfill Galloway. She attended Moody Bible Institute in Chicago, and she was a homemaker. Mrs. Bauer was a former member of the Hepzibah Baptist Church and Utica Baptist Church in Seneca. In addition to being the music director in several churches, she taught Sunday School, and she worked with youth groups. Her favorite hobby was reading her Bible.
Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Vicki and Nick Fletcher of Easley, Judy and Rusty Russell of Fayetteville, NC, and Patsy Lea and Johnny Lavender of Augusta, Georgia; a brother, Poin Galloway, of Milledgeville, GA; two sisters, Elizabeth Tuley of Elizabethtown, Indiana and Florence Humes of Blacksburg and an honorary sister Flo Loeffler of Vine Grove, KY; ten grandchildren, Joshua (Meg) Fletcher, Brian (Alison) Howell, Brent (Brenda) Culbertson, Trich van Gorder, Alison (Brian) Derrick, Carrie (Kevin) Pergerson, SGT Wil Lavender, Nathan (Desiree) Howell, and Christie Culbertson; eleven great-grandchildren, and special friends Rachel and Chuck Adams, PJ Fuller and Juanita Womack. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Bauer was predeceased by her husband, Elmer "Al" F. Bauer; son-in-law, Harvey Howell; grandson, John Owen Lavender; four brothers, Ernest, Presley, William and Edward Galloway; and two sisters, Thelma Hyde and Lucille Galloway.
Funeral services will be 1:30 PM Sunday in the Chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday at the funeral home.
The family is at the home of Nick and Vicki Fletcher.
