Mildred E. Cantrell Brooks, 77, of Central went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 15, 2013 at Rainey Hospice House.
A native of Central, widow of Melvin E. Brooks, who she married in 1950 and shared 62 years together.
She was the daughter of the late Thomas Foster and Pansy Willis Cantrell, was retired from Wamasutta of Anderson and had a passion for cooking and loved cooking for her many friends and family.
Although she had no children of her own, she was a special "mother" and "grandmother" to all of her nieces and nephews: Barbara Gillespie, Deidra Cantrell, Richie and Missy Cantrell, Brooke and Trey Cantrell, all of Central, Briana and Michael Barrett, James Michael and Brice Barrett, of Six Mile. A special friend, Terri Hughes and her special pet, "Precious."
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a brother, Johnnie Cantrell.
The family would like to express sincere love and thanks to her special companions, Lakeon Richardson, Donielle Winkler, Angela Montoya, Rose Pliauplus and also the the staff of Sterling House of Central and Hospice of the Upstate for the care and love shown to her.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at 1:00 P. M. in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum, at Memory Gardens, Clemson.
The family will receive friends from 12:00 P. M. until 12:45 P. M. prior to the service at the funeral home.
The family will be her home, 136 Old Shirley Rd, Central, SC 29630.
