Mildred Owen Crawford, 90, formerly of 141 Will Owen Road, died Thursday, November 05, 2009 at National Health Care in Greenwood.
Mrs. Crawford was born in Central, a daughter of the late William F. and Josephine Gilstrap Owen. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church and the W.M.S. and was the secretary at Central Elementary School for 27 Years. She taught music for many years and was a church musician in many churches where her husband was pastor.
Mrs. Crawford is survived by a son, H. Sam Crawford of Anderson; a daughter, Millicent C. Owen of Central; a sister, Velma Owen of Greenwood; three granddaughters, Candi Owen, Jada Owen and Shannon Crawford Allen and two great-grandsons, Zach Roach and Grayson Allen.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Crawford is predeceased by her husband, Rev. Henry C. Crawford and three brothers, W. Clint , Roy and Luther Owen and two sisters, Ruth Moore and Gertrude Skelton.
Funeral services will be 3:00 p.m. Sunday, in the chapel of Duckett - Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630. Burial will follow in Lawrence Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1:30 p.m. until 3:00 p.m Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
