Mildred Curry of 102 Goldman Street, Clemson, SC was born October 15, 1942 in Townville, SC to the late Terreather James and Addie Lois McKelly Curry. She departed this life on January 15, 2021 at Oconee Memorial Hospital in Seneca, SC. She was preceded in death by one sister, Evelyn Curry and two brothers, James A. Curry and Hubert Curry.
She joined New Prospect Baptist Church at an early age. She graduated from Riverside High School in Pendleton and moved to New York, NY where she lived for 50 years. In New York she joined Second Canaan Baptist Church where she was a very active member for over 30 years. She was a member of the Usher Board, Sunday School and the Missionary Society.
Mildred worked for the city of New York in the Social Services Department for over 35 years until she retired. She loved to help people and she loved to travel. She returned home in January 2010 due to sickness. She attended Shekinah Temple Evangelical Ministries in Liberty, SC as long as her health allowed.
She leaves with cherished memories four sisters, Deacon Izona Patterson and Bobbie J. Reid and her husband Gregory of Clemson, SC, Minister Mary J. Goldsmith and her husband, Rev. Daniel of Norris, SC, and Deacon Norma J. Randolph and her husband, Rev. George of Townville, SC; brothers, Sylvester Curry and Nathaniel Curry both of Pendleton, Deacon Curtis Curry and wife, Azalee of Clemson, SC, and Paul Richard Curry and wife, Barbara of Lawton, Oklahoma; and many belvoved nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 1 PM, Wednesday, January 20, 2021 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with Pastor Donnie R. Hall officiating. Scroll to the video player below to view the service. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Central, SC.
Friends and family may view Mildred Curry from 1 PM thru 5 PM, Tuesday or from 8 AM to 12:30 PM on Wednesday at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home & Cremations, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630.
