Mildred Sheriff Crawford Gantt, 86, formerly of Pickens and Easley, passed away Thursday, August 29, 2013 in Marietta, GA.
Born in Anderson County, the daughter of the late Ralph B. and Marie Blackston Sheriff, Mrs. Gantt retired as bookkeeper with Alice Manufacturing Company and later retired as bookkeeper with Robinson Funeral Home. She was a member of Secona Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, James H. Crawford, Jr. (Carrie) of Marietta, GA, and Douglas N. Crawford of Williamston; a step-son, Harvey L. Gantt (Crystal) of Matthews, NC; two step-daughters, Donna Albertson (Vernell) and Gail McCall, all of Easley; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren and six step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Gantt was predeceased by her first husband, James H. Crawford, Sr., and by her second husband, Almond Grover "Junior" Gantt, and by a brother, R. Fred Sheriff.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 PM Sunday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Anderson.
Visitation will be from 12:30 until 1:45 PM Sunday at the funeral home, prior to the service.
