Mildred Alma Bell Gillespie, 81, of 107 Crowntop Circle, died Sunday, June 11, 2006, at her home.
Born in Bamberg County, she was a daughter of the late Roache and Sadie Sharpe Bell. Mrs. Gillespie was retired as a spinner for Alice Manufacturing and was a member of Westwood Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Edward Jones of the home, Earl Jones of Pickens; a daughter, Julia Jones of Guyton, GA; three brothers, Hubert Bell, Roache Bell, Jr., both of Bamberg, Marvin Bell of Earhart; a sister, Marie Frazier of Barnwell; twelve grandchildren; twenty-nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a husband, J.B. Gillespie; a daughter, Sadie Johnson; a brother, Thomas Bell; and a sister, Grace Suite.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown with Reverend Greg Thornhill officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
