Mildred Looper “Millie” Mahaffey, 91, formerly of Pace Bridge Road, and wife of the late George F. Mahaffey, Jr., passed away Friday September 9, 2016 at Woodruff Manor.
Born on February 28, 1925 in Pickens County, she was the daughter of the late Mack and Lillian Singleton Looper.
Mrs. Mahaffey was retired from Belk Simpson in Greenville after 20 years of dedicated service. She loved her family, and working in her yard. She was the oldest member of Peters Creek Baptist Church.
Surviving are her children, Frank Delton Mahaffey (Laurie) of Easley and Dru Forrester (Mike) of Greenville; grandchildren, Kristin Day and Ryan Mahaffey; four great grandchildren; and a brother, Walter Looper of Greenville.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Rudolph Looper.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, September 12, 2016 at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, with burial to follow in Peters Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:30 PM until 1:45 PM at the funeral home.
Memorials may be made to Peters Creek Baptist Church, 972 Shoals Creek Church Road, Easley, SC 29640.
The family would like to thank the staff of Woodruff Manor for the compassionate care that was given to Mrs. Mahaffey for the past six years.
