Mildred (Ma) Chapman Riggins, 101, of Central, went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, May 25, 2013, at National Health Care of Anderson.
Mrs. Riggins was born in Anderson County, a daughter of the late James T. and Caro Brock Chapman. She was the oldest member of Refuge Baptist Church.
Surviving are three sons, James M. Riggins, Sr.(Shelby) and Joe L. Riggins (Linda) of Central, and Larry E. Riggins (Clara) of Conroe, TX; three daughters, Virginia R. Slaughter of Central, Judy R. Link (Joe) and Janice R. Durham (Travis) of Pendleton; one sister, Jane Epps of Belton; 21 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 10 great-great grandchildren. There are six families with five generations.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband Melvrick E. Riggins. They had 54 years of marriage before his passing in 1982. She was also predeceased by two sons, Tommy and Duaine Riggins; daughter in law, Geneva Riggins; son in law, Jim Slaughter; grandson, Junior Greene.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at 3:00 P. M. at Refuge Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, from 6:00 P. M. until 8:00 P. M. on Tuesday, May 28, 2013

The family will be at the home of Virginia Slaughter, 125 Irvine Road, Central, SC.
