Easley
Mr. Millard Franklin Avery, 68, husband of Jo Ann Long Avery, passed away Friday, September 19, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital.
Born in Sparks, GA, a son of the late Carl Isaac and Myrtle Hayes Avery, Mr. Avery retired from Jim's Family Restaurant and attended Rice's Creek Church of God of Prophecy. He was a US Army veteran having served in the Vietnam War.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of twenty-five years, are two sons, Neal Franklin Avery of Lakeland, FL, and Steven A. Watkins (Shawnna) of Locust Fork, AL; two daughters, Theresa Lee Barge of Cuthbert, GA, and Melissa Watkins of Greenville; eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Avery was predeceased by one brother.
Graveside services with military honors will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, September 23, 2014 in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Brandon Nixon officiating.
The family will receive friends from noon until 1:15 PM Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown, prior to the service.
