Millicent Prihoda

July 26, 1932 — April 25, 2015

Millie Prihoda, 82, of Salem, died April 25, 2015 at Oconee Memorial Hospital.

Born in South Bend, IN, she was the daughter of the late Mildred Anderson and Herbert Lee Sheldon Clock. She was preceded in death by one brother, Irving.

Surviving are her husband, Donald, sons, James and his wife, Julie and their children, Claire and Thomas, Robert and his wife, Nicole and their children, Hayley and Shayna.

Millie graduated from Purdue University receiving a degree of bachelor of science with distinction.

After teaching for several years at the kindergarten and seventh grade level, she became a Certified Financial Planner in South Carolina.

Millie was very active in track and field sports and synchronized swimming with the Keowee Synchers. In track and field, she competed in several events including race walking in the South Carolina Senior Olympics and qualified and competed in race walking three times for the National Senior Olympics. She still holds the records for the 1500 meter race walk event in her age group from the 2000 and 2004 South Carolina Senior Olympics. In addition to all of this, she was an active golfer and tennis player.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Wednesday, April 29th at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 193 Old Greenville Highway, Clemson, reception to follow in the parish hall followed by burial at St. Paul's Church, Pendleton, SC.
