Mrs. Millie Sue Roper Cisson, 84, wife of Wallace Newton Cisson, passed away Friday, February 8, 2013 at Ashlan Village, Lyman, SC.
Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late William Parker and Rosa Burns Roper, Mrs. Cisson retired from Cassell's United Stores after thirty years of service and later retired from Belk and Alta Vista Nursing Center. She was a member of Cross Roads Baptist Church where she was a member of the Glenn Williams/Thelma Moorehead Sunday School Class, and was a member of the WMU.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a daughter, Shelia C. Welch (David) of Campobello; a brother, Ray Roper; four sisters, Montez Farmer, Rachel Ann Watson, Frances Kuykendall and Betty Kunz; two grandsons, Dr. Christopher Welch (Erin) and Brian Welch (Nicole). In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cisson was predeceased by two sisters, Sadie Lecroy and Azilee Howard.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 10, 2013 at Cross Roads Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. until 1:45 p.m. Sunday at the church prior to the service.
Family members are at their respective homes.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cross Roads Baptist Church, 160 Cross Roads Church Road, Easley, SC 29640 or to the charity of one's choice.
