Milton Arthur Stancil, 88, of 105 Hardy Drive and husband of Rebecca George Chappell Stancil, died Sunday morning, August 12, 2012 at his home.

Born in Pickens County, he was a son of the late William Arthur and Alberta Gossett Stancil. He was retired and was of the Church of God faith.

Surviving are his wife, of the home; 2 step-sons, Edward Chappell of Central and Rev. Vernell Chappell of Liberty; 5 step-daughters, Elizabeth Holder, Shirley Berry, Geraldine Wilson, Linda Rowland and Joyce Fincannon all of Central; 1 sister, Mahoda Mulligan of Liberty; 17 step-grandchildren; and 16 step-great-granchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother Melvin Stancil; and three sisters, Gladys Bowen, Ina Smith and Martha Fowler.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Tuesday at the Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central.

Funeral services will be 3 PM, Wednesday in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Vernell Chappell officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Central.

The family is at the home.
