Miriam Blanch Wertz, 59, wife of Kenneth E. Wertz, died Friday, February 18, 2011 at the Anderson Medical Center in Anderson. Born in Royston, GA she was the daughter of the late Henry and Mae Smith Hambrick.
In addition to her husband she is survived by sons, William Smith and Danny Smith both of Pendleton; step-sons William �??Billy�?? Wertz, Jeffrey Wertz, and Brandon Wertz all of Birmingham, AL, Everett Wertz and Richard Wertz both of GA; daughters, Judy Dozier (Royce) of Chesapeake, VA, Becky Wood of Pendleton; step-daughter Connie Young of GA; brothers, Wayne Hambrick of Bowersville, GA and half-brothers Stephen Hambrick and Adam Hambrick both of Anderson; sisters Wanda Padgett of La France, Annie Rhoeletter of Fairplay and Tammi Vaughn of Belton; nine grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central at 11am Monday with burial to follow in Mt. Zion Cemetery in Central. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 6-8pm.
