Mitchell David Weldon Jordan

Mitchell “David” Weldon Jordan, husband to Lea Jordan, unexpectedly passed away on Thursday, July 13, 2023 at the age of 75.

Born in Franklin County, GA, he was the son of the late James Mitchell Jordan and Mary Elizabeth Gibson Jordan.

He is survived by his wife, Lea Estes Jordan; children, Britni Jordan (Stacy Alexander), Josh Jordan (Angela), Bret Jordan and Rob Hutton.  David is also survived by many extended family members and friends.

Prior to attending Georgia State University, David dedicated two years of his life to conduct missionary work in France.  He not only spread the word of his beloved Christ, but it was here that he developed a great love of its people and language, which he carried with him throughout his life and passed onto others.

As a Georgia State University graduate, he possessed a degree that fueled his passion for paving a better path for others, enabling him to create positive change and offer second chances to those who needed hope on their path.

His dedication to his career surpassed his education and retirement, as his compassionate heart continued to guide him in making others’ days brighter through his inviting nature and ability to connect with others.  He never met a stranger. He championed the underdog and held others’ right to dignity with the highest regard.

Above all else, David Jordan was a family man.  His wife embodies the love they shared, reflecting everything dear in his heart in the life they built together.   The pride and love he had for his children was immeasurable.  You could see it shining in his blue eyes anytime they were gathered together in laughter.

Leaving behind a gift for his family, David instilled faith in God and the promise of eternal peace.  He provided them with the shelter of his love, championed their successes, and offered comfort through his beliefs that will live on as his legacy.
