Pickens
Mr. Mitchell Lawrence King, 53, husband of Laura Gillespie King, went to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, November 25, 2017 after a long courageous battle with cancer. He fought it with a never ending smile.
Born in Pickens County, a son of Lou Ellen Richard King of Pickens and the late Garlon Lawrence King, Jr., Mr. King was employed with the State of South Carolina School Bus Transportation and a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Mitch loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing, but his greatest love was his family and grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife of twenty-four years and his mother, are his four children, Michelle Crowe (Kenny) of Pickens, Tamela Bonham (Anthony) of Slater, Becca Duncan (Shane) of Pickens and Travis Galloway (Cassidy) of Charleston; two brothers, Anthony King and Thomas King (Becky), all of Pickens; a sister, Iris Bagwell (Tub) of Pickens; six grandchildren, Anthony Bonham, III., Kent Crowe, Allie Crowe, Griffin Duncan, Millee Duncan and Landon Galloway; and his Fur Baby, Smokie.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, November 28, 2017 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Monday, November 27, 2017 at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown.
