Bethel Modena Rampey Hayes, 82, of 115 Wellington Road, died Monday, September 15, 2008, at her home.
Born in Easley, Mrs. Hayes was a daughter of the late Arthur Joseph and Susie Elizabeth Caroline Roper Rampey. She graduated from Easley High School in 1945. Mrs. Hayes was a homemaker and a member of Berea First Baptist Church, as well as various churches throughout the world. She was also an active Girl Scout Leader and passionate about geneaology.
Surviving are her husband of sixty-four years, J.C. Hayes, whom she met in first grade, of the home; one daughter, Cynthia Sue Harnisch of Los Angeles, CA; one sister, Pearl Sudduth of Easley; and one grandson, Arthur James Harnisch. She was thirteenth of thirteen children.
Funeral services will be 4:00 P.M. Friday in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road. Burial will follow in Robinson Memorial Gardens, 1425 Powdersville Road, Easley.
The family will receive friends from 2:30-4:00 P.M. Friday prior to the service.
The family is at the home.
