Molly A. Greene

May 12, 1977 — February 2, 2016

Molly Atkinson GreeneClemson, SCMolly A. Greene, 38, died Tuesday afternoon, February 2, 2016, at her home in Clemson, South Carolina. Molly was born May 12, 1977, in Memphis, Tennessee, the daughter of Suzanne M. and George Atkinson, and spent her early childhood in Como, Mississippi. She moved with her family to the Clemson area in 1988. A graduate of Daniel High School in Central, SC she has worked as an administrative assistant in Clemson University’s Department of Languages since 2006. Molly loved gardening, preparing meals with her own special touch, and art. She was generous in sharing her gifts by offering the bounty of her garden, delicious creations from her kitchen, and her enjoyment of painting with family and friends. An avid lover of animals and the outdoors, she was a devoted caretaker to her dogs, Moe and Bea. She enjoyed exercise, walking, and running. At work, Molly was considered “the smile of the department”. As many of her co-workers will testify, she was that and more. She would bring flowers to those whom she might know were having hard times, offer kind words of encouragement to those discouraged, or lend a listening ear to those who just needed to talk. Her sensitive heart went out naturally to those who were hurting or had a need. Her willingness to be available to her fellow staff members went beyond the confines of the work place and office hours. Even those who had retired from the department knew they could call Molly and count on her for assistance or a favor. Molly is survived by her husband Michael Greene; his parents, Becky and Ralph Greene; and his bother Joel. She is also survived by two sisters, Whitney Sexton (Tim), Clemson; Emily Atkinson (Maria), Columbia; her three nephews, Noah Atkinson, and Andrew and Matthew Sexton; and other maternal and paternal uncles, aunts, and cousins living out of state. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents John and Lois Morgan, Memphis; paternal grandparents, George and Julia W. Atkinson, Memphis; and maternal uncle, Daniel W. Morgan, Memphis.A memorial service will be held in the sanctuary of the Pendleton United Methodist Church in Pendleton, SC at 3pm on February 11th, 2016. Visitation will precede the service in the church parlor next to the social hall, and will be from 2pm until 3pm.In lieu of flowers, contributions in Molly’s memory may be made to The American Humane Association, or the charity of your choice.Condolences may be expressed online at www.robinsonfuneralhomes.com or at Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central, SC.
