Monte Ray Gantt, 47, of 109 East Hill Drive, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Saturday, September 04, 2010 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.
Monte was born in Transylvania County, N.C., a son of Bob Smith of Easley and the late Louise Snipes Smith. He was a graduate of Easley High School and Tri-County Technical College. Monte was the owner of Monte's Tree Service. He was a member of Rock Springs Baptist Church.
Surviving in addition to his father are his wife of twenty-nine years, Tracy Chapman Gantt of the home; a son, Travis Gantt and his wife, Kasey; a daughter, Courtney Gantt, and her fiance, Brandon McCurley; three brothers, Tony (Debbie) Gantt, Eric (Allison) Gantt, and Tony (Gayla) Smith; a sister, Brenda (Gene) Turner; and two precious grandchildren, Colby and Kinsley Gantt. Also surviving are two special nieces, Stephanie King and Stacey Fortner.
Funeral services will be 11:00AM Wednesday at Rock Springs Baptist Church conducted by the Reverend Dr. David Gallamore. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
Escort of Honor will be the Easley Fire Department.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00PM Tuesday at Robinson Funeral Home-Powdersville Road.
