Myra J. Holcombe
Easley, SC
She loved fishing, cooking Sunday lunch, and traveling. And on Tuesday, surrounded by her family, Myra Holcombe unwrapped her wings following a valiant fight against cancer. In the midst of our sadness, we give thanks for the life of a woman we were privileged to call wife, mother, sister and friend.
Myra shared a loving marriage with J Roy Holcombe for 45 wonderful years. They were blessed with three children: Roy Holcombe (Sherril), Theresa Cureton (Melvin), and baby Melinda, whom Myra now holds in heaven. Myra worked side by side with J Roy at Holcombe Upholstery in Greenville.
She was the daughter of the late David Peter "DP" and Mae Bell Gosnell, and her sisters, Dorothy Hall (Charles) and Judy Rhodes of Greenville; Janice Roberts (Walt) of Easley; and her brother David "Buddy" Gosnell (Pam) of Liberty, survive her.
Granny Myra was loved dearly and will be missed by her grandchildren, Celeste, Kisha, Candid, Alison and Dillon and 8 great-grandchildren.
Family and friends are invited to share in a service of remembrance at Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown at 11 AM, Friday with Rev. Nancy Page officiating. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Pickens.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM, Thursday at the funeral home.
