Myrtle Woodbury Lesley, 91, passed away August 1, 2015 after an illness. She was born December 25, 1923 in Fayetteville, NC. Her parents were Evander and Annie Miller Woodbury. Formerly a long-time resident of Conway, she had lived at the Bethea Baptist Retirement Community in Darlington since 1999.
She was a graduate of Bennettsville High School and the Conway Hospital School of Practical Nursing. She was a retired licensed practical nurse, having worked at Conway Hospital and Mullins Hospital. She had been a member of Conway First Baptist Church for 67 years.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Cyrus Lesley. Surviving are two daughters: Avice Ward (Dale) of Duncanville, TX and Marlene Johnson(Thomas) of Conway; three grandchildren: Lauren Hammonds, Alex Ward(Rebecca), and Drew Johnson (Lindsay); and five great-grandchildren.
The family will greet friends on Thursday, August 6, from 4:00 pm to 5:30 pm at the First Baptist Church, Conway, SC in the church parlor. A graveside service will be held on Sunday, August 9 at 12:30 pm at Zion United Methodist Church, Easley, SC. The family will greet friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the building fund at First Baptist Church, 603 Elm St., Conway, SC, or Bethea Baptist Retirement Community, 157 Home Ave., Darlington, SC, or Zion United Methodist Church, 432 Zion Church Rd., Easley, SC.
