Myrtle May Gates Wilkie, 81, of 227 Moore Road, died Thursday, March 30, 2006 at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

Born in Dillsboro, NC, she was a daughter of the late John Homer and Fannie Catherine Queen Gates. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville and was a Sunday School Teacher for over 30 years. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are her husband, Albert Jackson Wilkie of the home; a son, Walter Hayes Wilkie of Inman; two brothers, Albert Gates of Cramerton, NC, Robert Gates of Cherokee, NC; three sisters, Ethel Dillon of Columbia, Faye Boles of Fall River, MA, Girlene Ledford of Newark, NJ; three grandchildren, David Wilkie, Angela Wilkie, Charlie Johnson; and five great-grandchildren, George Wilkie, Matthew Wilkie, Dillon Ellison, Grayson Johnson, and Bailey Johnson. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a son, Millard Jack Wilkie; a daughter, Barbara Jean Wilkie; one brother, and two sisters.

Funeral services will be 1:00 PM Saturday at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Greenville with Reverend Dr. Melvin Aiken and Reverend Dr. Ralph Horne officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park in Easley.

The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown and will be placed in the church at 11:30 AM Saturday where the family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 PM prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Tabernacle Baptist Church; 3931 White Horse Road; Greenville, SC 29611.
