Nancy Lee Kearns, 87, of Easley, SC, a beloved mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away on November 29, 2025. Born on September 23, 1938, Nancy lived a life full of love, creativity, and connection, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her.
Nancy moved to Easley in the late 1970s, embarking on a new chapter of her life with her beloved husband. Together, they established Kearns Office Supply, a venture that became a fixture in the community, as much a labor of love as it was a business. Their dedication and partnership flourished for many years, reflecting their inseparable bond that lasted for a remarkable 46 years of marriage.
As a mother and grandmother, Nancy’s greatest joy was found in her family. She embraced the role of Nana with open arms, pouring love and warmth into her grandchildren's lives. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her immediate family; she took in extended family and loved them as her own, weaving a rich tapestry of relationships that spoke to her generosity of heart.
An artist at soul, Nancy found peace and fulfillment in painting. Her family will forever treasure her beautiful creations, each canvas a testament to her vibrant spirit and unique perspective on the world. The colors she brought to life reflect her personality, bright, joyful, and full of warmth, much like the influence she had on those around her.
Nancy leaves behind her husband of 46 years, David Quin Kearns; her sons, Robert Hammerbeck (Laurie), Mark Hammerbeck (Connie), Charles Hammerbeck (Cindy); her grandchildren, Emily Hammerbeck Newman-Roebuck (Adam), Allan Hammerbeck; a great-grandchild, Addison Lee Briggs Newman; and a sister, MaryAnne Mennell (Charles). She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Kenneth Ricketts, Sr., and Mary Stokes Ricketts, and her brother, Charles Kenneth Ricketts Jr.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM at Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road, with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 PM in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home – Powdersville Road. Burial will follow immediately after at Robinson Memorial Gardens, Veterans Gardens of Honor.
