Nancy S. Kirkley-Bowen

Nancy, born in Walterboro, SC, the daughter of the late Henry Nathaniel Stokes and Bessie Belle Risher died, December 13, 2008 at the age of 95 at Hospice of the Upstate in Anderson.
Nancy was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Central, the Eloise Gaines Circle of the church, and was a member for over 50 years and past president of the James L. Orr Chapter of the UDC.
She was predeceased by husbands, Francis Edward Kirkley, Sr. , and William Clayton Bowen; daughter-in-law, Sue Cole Kirkley, and sisters, Bootsie McCarley Green, Ida Mae Buckwalter and Henry Moseley Brown.
She is survived by sons, Francis Edward Kirkley, Jr. and wife, Davie, of Pendleton, Robert Stokes Kirkley of Greenville; daughter, Lou Kirkley Baker and husband, Edgar, of Whitmire; stepsons, Tom Bowen of Seneca, Dr. Ben Bowen of Troutman, NC; step-daughter, Bettie Roberts of Raleigh, NC; seven grandchildren; and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2 PM, Tuesday, Dec. 16, 2008 in the Chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central with burial to follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery, Clemson.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM, Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home.
