Nancy Carol Kornegay Peterson of Greenville, SC peacefully passed at age 67 on April 24, 2024. Nancy was born on March 15, 1957, to Hubert David and Rae Bell Quinn Kornegay, both who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her beloved brother, Marshall T. Kornegay.
Nancy is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 25 years, Doug Peterson, William Lindsay (first husband and father of her four oldest children), children: April M. Shanahan, Paul R. Lindsay (Ali), Alison B. Barteau (Jamie), Rebecca Quinn Kirkwood (Jeremy), Brita M. Peterson (Reg).
Nancy is also survived by seven grandchildren, whom she loved dearly: Austin Gaskill (Ashley), Tieler Kirkwood, Tristan Rice, Kayla Rice, Aika Kirkwood, Autumn Burks, and Lorelei Hosto. And last, but not least, her puppy Snickers.
Nancy devoted her life to her family and close friends, and loved to laugh, always shining.
She loved sewing, camping, gardening, collecting dolls, the beach and bike rides.
In addition to being an accomplished seamstress, she was a passionate teacher, pianist, and Disney enthusiast.
Her greatest joys in life were time with her grandchildren, Southern cooking, her many friends, seeing the beauty around her and most of all, her husband Doug of 25 years.
Nancy was a 5'2" firecracker- from her red hair to her spunky personality, she was fierce to the very end.
To my wife, our mother, grandmother, good friend and everyone else that knew you . . . you are loved and will forever be missed!
