Nealy A. Sweat

Nealy Adolph Sweat, 88, of 249 W. Halfway Branch Road and husband for over 66 years to Lucille Tinsley Sweat, died Wednesday morning at his home.
Born in Summerville, SC, he was a son of the late Nealy W. and Lillie Wise Sweat. He was a retired carpenter at the Charleston Naval Ship Yard. Nealy was the Boy Scout Master of Troop 757 in Summerville for almost 30 years. He was a US Army veteran of WWII where he served for 21 months in the South Pacific Theatre and participated in the invasion at Iwo Jima and Okinawa.
Surviving in addition to his wife of the home are a son, James Wiley Sweat (Elaine) of Georgetown, SC; daughter, Katheryn S. Ross of Walhalla, SC; 6 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a sister Lillian Sweat Bunch.
Funeral services will be 11 AM, Saturday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with entombment to follow in Oconee Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 10 to 10:45 AM, Saturday prior to the service at the funeral home.
