NEIL E. BYERLEY - Seneca, SC

Neil E. Byerley, 72, of Seneca, SC passed away on Sunday, January 15, 2006.

Memorial services will be held at 2pm on Tuesday, January 17 at the Clemson United Methodist Church where he has been a member since 1969.

Neil was born in Maryville, TN to Fred J. and Martha E. Byerley. He is survived by June Redding Byerley, his wife of 53 years. Neil and June are the parents of Aaron R. Byerley (Sue) of Colorado Springs, CO, Mark F. Byerley (Judy) of Greenville, SC, Julie B. DuBose (Gary) of Seneca, SC, Michael E. Byerley (Julie) of Chapel Hill, NC, and Jennie J. McNeil (Bill) of Bridgewater, MA. June and Neil are the proud grandparents of five grandsons (Jonathan, Steve, Bennett, Jeb, and Alex) and five granddaughters (Ashley, Jamie, Dwyn, Sarah, and Jessie). Neil was preceded in death by his brother Gerald.

After serving a stint in the USAF, Neil earned a B.S. at the University of Tennessee, and an M.B.A. at the University of Florida. Neil later became a C.P.A. in private practice in Seneca and a visiting professor of management accounting at Clemson University. After retiring, Neil served as a devoted volunteer for numerous good causes including the Collins Children's Home, the Boy Scouts of America, the Clemson Downs, the Rotary, and Trout Unlimited.

Neil was passionate about encouraging his kids and grandkids, going fly fishing, and watching Clemson University sports.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the "building fund" of the Clemson United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 590, Clemson, SC, 29633.
