Nell GibsonEasley Sophia Nell Hamlin Gibson, 86, passed away Friday, September 16, 2016 at Golden Living Center, Hendersonville, NC. Born in Pickens County, a daughter of the late Harlow Judson and Mary Alice Tinsley Hamlin, Mrs. Gibson was a homemaker and opened the first Christmas store in Greenville at Gibson Pool and Patio. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Easley. Nell was known for her wonderful cooking and had a passion for the outdoors, where she loved fishing, camping, and gardening. Surviving are a son, Jimmy Gibson of Easley; two daughters--Pamela Anne Gibson and her husband, Ted R. Bright of Castle Valley, UT, and Patricia (Patty) Gibson Robinson and her husband, William A. (Alex) Robinson III of Belmont, NC; two brothers--Talmadge Hamlin of Easley, and Wayne Hamlin of Liberty; six sisters--Lois Hayes of Easley, Dot McCall of Summerton, SC, Mary Hester of Greenville, Janet Wilson of Easley, Antha James of Easley, and Shirley Stephens of Liberty; three granddaughters--Erika Sophia Gibson, Mary Katherine Robinson, and Patricia Anne Robinson. In addition to her parents, Nell was predeceased by a brother, Fred Hamlin; and two sisters, Donnie Hughes and Grace Hamlin. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 24, 2016 in the chapel of Robinson Funeral Home-Downtown. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:45 PM Saturday at the funeral home, prior to the service. Family members are at their respective homes.
