Nellie Faye Lawless, 76, of Pendleton, went to be with her Lord and Savior late Tuesday evening, December 12, 2023. She was born in Anderson County December 2, 1947, the daughter of Loyd and Vera Crowe Porter.
Nellie was a hard worker her entire life. She spent over forty years in the textile industry at Westpoint Stevens. Nellie loved to travel with her family, but it was her personal mission to care for each member of her family.
She is survived by her husband, David Lawless; three sisters, Debra Porter of Pendleton, Lois Black and her husband Eddie of Central, and Jean Stamey, her husband Billy, and their children, Jim, Diane, and Becky, of Pendleton; two bonus sons, Nathan Lawless and Russell Gibson; two grandsons, CJ and Carson Lawless; many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Dana Mcalister, her husband Nathan, and their son, Cody, and Tracey Ingram, her husband, Patrick, and their two sons, Wyatt and Wes; nephew, Austin Gibson; niece Destiny Smith; special aunt, Virginia Haney; a cousin, Alinda Stephens; and her two best friends, Joanne Beebe and Marilyn Garrett.
In addition to her parents, Nellie was preceded in death by a brother, Broadus Porter; and a sister, Barbara Gibson.
A graveside service will be held at 3:00PM Friday, December 15th at Memory Gardens, 586 Issaqueena Trail, in Clemson. The casket will be open for those who want to view from 2:15 – 2:45.
Flowers will be accepted. For those who wish to remember Nellie in a special way may make donations in her name to Rainey Hospice House, 1835 Rogers Road, Anderson, SC, 29621.
The family is at the home of Lois and Eddie Black, 401 Mulliken Road, Central, SC.
