Norma Smith Langley, 86, of 171 Grand Oak Circle and widow of Kenneth C. Langley, died Thursday, July 3, 2014 at the Oconee Medical Center.
Born in the Lebanon Community of Anderson County, she was a daughter of the late John D. and Edna Lonnon Smith. She was a graduate of Lebanon High School. Mrs. Langley was retired from Clemson University where she served as the Administrative Assistant at Redfern Health Center and was a former employee with Carolina National Bank in Pendleton. She was a member of Lebanon Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Norman Frank "Buzz" (Nicole) Williams of Mountain Rest, SC; daughter Donna Jean (George) Patterson of Clemson; sister, Margaret M. Smith of Mebane, NC; granddaughters, Jasmine Williams of Mountain Rest and Angela (Tim) Mettlen of Pawleys Island; great-granddaughter, Holly Mettlen of Pawleys Island. The family would like to thank her devoted caregiver, Rozlyn Elliott.
She was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Jameson of Charleston.
Norma was a talented seamstress who willingly accepted challenging sewing projects for family, friends and church. She delighted in using her green thumb to provide flowers for many church services. She also enjoyed singing and playing the organ and piano.
Graveside committal services will be 3 PM, Sunday in Lebanon Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Lebanon Baptist Church, 5150 Gentry Road, Anderson, SC 29625 or the Chattooga Conservancy, 8 Sequoia Hills Lane, Clayton, GA 30525.
