Norma Petzold

July 30, 1932 — February 11, 2021

Norma J. Petzold peacefully left us in the early hours of February, 11, 2021, after having fought the ravages of Alzheimer's for many years. She was born in Port Washington, New York, on July 30, 1932, daughter of Domingo Gerardo and Antoinette (Rose) Castro. Her youthful years were spent in Middletown, New York. She enjoyed a successful career in the stock brokerage business. After many years in Syosset, Long Island, she retired to Seneca, South Carolina in 1985.

Missing her are her husband, Howard, daughter June Carlson Platz (Charles), brother Walter Castro (Edie), sister-in-law, Jerrylyn Paolucci (Stephen), stepdaughter, Pamela Troutman, stepson Nelson Petzold (Regina), and grandchildren Rachel, Hannah, Heather (Marshall), Danielle (Nelson), Andrew (Elena), Matthew (Janelle), and other nieces and nephews and great grandchildren. Norma was predeceased by her brother Robert Castro.

Norma will always be remembered for her smile, warm heart, for being an amazing porcelain painting artist, and a friend to all who knew her. Her positivity was far reaching, she never knew a stranger. We will miss you.

In lieu of flowers, as an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be sent to Alzheimers Association, South Carolina Chapter.

Private Services will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, February 20, 2021 in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, 108 Cross Creek Road, Central, SC 29630,
