Mrs Norma Jean Van Meter, 76, wife of Donald L. "Don" Van Meter died Sunday June 6, 2010 at Countryside Village.
Mrs. Van Meter was born in Russellville, ALA. a daughter of the late Millard Austin Hellums and Claudia Killingsworth Hellums. She was retired from Bell System, and a former member of the Easley Lions Club and a member of First Baptist Church of Easley.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons; Stuart Ellis Van Meter and his wife Debra Van Meter of Knoxville TN and John Sherman Van Meter and his wife Chong Ae of Merritt Island, FLA. A daughter; Roxanne Green and her husband Jeff of Easley. A sister; Mary Ruth Goodlett (Conrad) of Moulton, ALA. Grandchildren; Erin and Michal Van Meter of Knoxville, TN, Danielle and Shane Pettitt of Merritt Island, FL and Daniel Green of Easley.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a sister Betty Stroud.
Memorial services will be at 3:00PM Wednesday, June 9, 2010 in the chapel of First Baptist Church of Easley. The family will receive friends in the tower narthex of the church following the service. Burial will be private in Robinson Memorial Gardens.
