Norwood Rufus Page, 90, husband of the late Evelyn Warner Page, died Friday, November 13, 2009 at the Clemson Downs Health Center. A native of Lake View, S.C. he was the son of the late Forrest Daniel and Sarah Jordan Page.

Mr. Page was a member of the Clemson First Baptist Church and served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II. He was also a member of the Clemson Rotary Club. He graduated from Clemson in 1935 and later received a M.S. from N. C. State University and a Ph.D. degree from the University of Georgia. He worked for Clemson University for over 40 years as the Department Head of Agriculture Chemistry and a Professor of Agronomy.

He is survived by sons: Russell Page and wife Claudia of Birmingham, AL, Forrest Page and wife Diane of Martinez, GA and Peter Page of Central; daughter, Mary Page Parliman and husband Bruce of Jamica, VT; grandchildren: Alex, Ryan, Lindsey and Jordan Page and Collin Parliman; great grandchildren, Sterling and Ollie Page. He was predeceased by a brother, Willie Page and a sister, Thelma Page.


Funeral services will be 1pm Tuesday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home with burial to follow in Old Stone Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 11am-1pm prior to the service. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in his honor to one's favorite charity. Friends are welcomed to the family home following the burial service.
