Nowlan Scott Allen, 23, of 103 University Village Apts., died Tuesday, December 13, 2011 in his sleep due to complications of diabetes at his apartment.
Born in Greenville, SC, he was a son of Scott and Alice Hamby Allen of Mauldin. Nowlan was a graduate of Southern Wesleyan University where he was a member of the Baseball team for four years. In addition to attending SWU, Nowlan was an intern with the Central-Clemson Rec Center and the Central Recreation Department and loved the time he spent both at SWU and the Town of Central. He loved all sports and especially enjoyed following the University of Georgia Bulldogs. He also loved all outdoor activities and had hoped to become a DNR officer. In addition, Nowlan dearly loved working with youth and especially loved his teammates he met while playing baseball at SWU.
Surviving in addition to his parents are a brother, John Eidson Allen of the home; maternal grandparents, Bob and Bobbie Hamby of Toccoa, GA; paternal grandparents, Harry and Alice Nowlan Allen of Marietta, GA; and a large extended loving family.
A Celebration of the Life of Nowlan Scott Allen will take place at 3 PM, Sunday in the Newton-Hobson Chapel on the campus of Southern Wesleyan University.
The family will greet friends prior to the service starting at 2 PM.
