Ola Mae Hunter, 90 of Colonial Beach, Va. formally of Central, SC., passed away on Oct. 18, 2011 at 10:20 AM at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Va. surrounded by her loving family.
Ola was born July 19, 1921 in Hartsville, Al. She was the last of 9 children in her family. She lived a wonderful life with her loving husband, Elgin Hunter. They moved back to Central in 1983 and lived there until Elgin�??s death in Feb. 2006. Ola then moved to Va. to live with her daughter. Ola is survived by her six children; Carolyn, Nancy, Phil, Doug, Mark, and Gene and is also survived by 18 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great- grandchildren. Throughout her life, Ola always said; " At times like this, we don�??t remember days, we remember moments." One of Ola�??s final thoughts were; "Elgin and I are finally together again." She will never be forgotten, but will always be in the hearts of her loving family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Wendy�??s Feline Friends, 1228 Holly Vista Drive, Colonial Beach, VA 22443-4340
Funeral services will be held 11am Monday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home, Central with burial to follow in Mt. Zion cemetery. The family will receive friends from 9:30-10:45am at the funeral home prior to the service.
