Olivi Virginia Carter Smith Van Landingham, 87, of Foothills Presbyterian Home, died Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at Spartanburg Regional Hospital.

Born in Adel, Georgia, and reared in West Palm Beach, FL, Mrs. Van Landingham was the daughter of the late George Carter and the late Rose Corbett Carter Cone and Luther T. Cone. She was a member of Providence Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are a son, John Eddie Smith, Jr. and his wife, Prather N., of Evergreen, AL; two daughters, Patricia Smith Guthrie and her husband, John, of Charlotte, N.C., and Sherry Smith Bearden and her husband, John, of Greenville, S.C.; five grandchildren, Amy Bearden Clary, and her husband, Mark, Scott Bearden, Sara Prather Smith, Mary Kristin Smith, and John Carter Smith; three great-grandchildren, Witt Clary, Joey Clary, and Carter Clary. She was predeceased by her husbands, John Eddie Smith and Samuel Grey Van Landingham.

Graveside funeral services will be 1:30 P.M. Thursday at Mount Hope Cemetery in Florence, S.C.

Memorial services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday at Providence Presbyterian Church in Powdersville conducted by the Reverend Dr. Michael Lee Fitze and the Reverend Julie Schaaf. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
