Opal Bagwell

Opal Newsome Bagwell, 72, of 117 Centerfield Lane, died Saturday, January 6, 2007 at Palmetto Health Baptist Easley.
Born in Greenville, she was a daughter of the late Forest Byrd and Armenta White Newsome. She was retired from Woodside Mills where she was a cloth inspector and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, where she was a part of the Ladies Sunday School Class, the Ladies Circle Class, and the church choir.
Surviving are a son, Ricky Bagwell and wife Jean of Liberty; a daughter, Nancy James and husband Ralph of Easley; a sister, Margaret Hughes of Easley; three grandchildren, Jamie James and wife Christine, Stacy Hudson and husband Tony, Benji Bagwell and wife Carrie; three great-grandchildren, Quinn and Hunter Hudson, Ashley Bagwell; and a special friend, Frank Burrells. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Roy Bagwell; a brother, Forest Byrd Newsome, Jr.; and a sister, Bernice "Bobby" Holder.
Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday at Trinity Baptist Church with Reverend Randy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Memorial Park.
The body is at Robinson Funeral Home - Downtown where the family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 until 8:00 PM and will be placed in the church at 1:00 PM on Tuesday.
