Taylors, S.C.

Oscar Thomas Wolfe, 91, died Friday, February 19, 2010 at the Greer Memorial Hospital. A native of Rock Hill he was the son of the late Martin and Corrie Johnston Wolfe. He retired from Eastern Airlines. He served 9 years in the U, S. Navy during WWII serving as Chief Gunner's Mate on the battleships USS Wisconsin and USS Washington. He was a loyal and devoted husband, father and patriot who took great pride in his family and country. He was a dedicated Clemson fan and sports enthusiast.

He is survived by sons; Lynn Evans Wolfe and wife Betty Ruth of Margate, FL and Brian Alan Wolfe and wife Tangie of Taylors; grandchildren, 1st Sergeant George Ellis and wife Kathleen, Savannah Leigh Wolfe and Samuel Thomas Wolfe; great-grandchildren Christopher Ellis, Toby Ellis, Cara Ellis, Brandon Ellis and Harley Lynn Ellis. He was predeceased by his wife, Margaret Elizabeth Evans Wolfe.

Funeral services will be 3pm Sunday in the chapel of Duckett-Robinson Funeral Home in Central. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2-3pm prior to the service. A Committal Service will be held Monday at 2pm at the Sharon Memorial Park in Charlotte, N.C.
